Week 1 Digital Media Checklist
During week one of LDT300X we needed to create a digital checklist for open educational resource material. This checklist is to be used to evaluate potential OER material for use in course design and material generation.
In creating the document included below, I got a chance to practice assessing potential source material in a methodical and organized way. Creating and using the checklist helped me to actively learn what the most important elements of OER materials are and what aspects of those elements need to be addressed with greater specificity.
The checklist I made includes a section to record the evaluator, intended course name, license, evaluation date and other general information to assist the instructional designer in identifying the evaluated material and its intended use. Further sections cover questions regarding the creator, relevance, accuracy/quality of information, functionality, accessibility, interactivity and licensing. The final section leaves space for additional comments from the evaluator.
