Week 5: Screencast Video
This week I made a screencast for section 4 of my course about how to make an outline. The goal is to show the students a short clip of the important aspects of making an outline and the screencast will supplement other videos and materials. This addresses learning objective 4: Outline a five-paragraph essay
I made the base material in Microsoft Word, then recorded the video using Screencastify. Then I uploaded it to YouTube and add the captions by hand and synced them to the audio. Then I copied the captions into a document to make a transcript. I included both the transcript and the base material in PDF form next to the video on this page. The license is the standard YouTube license.
I learned that if I plan to make a transcript after I create the video then I need to subscribe to a service to do the initial transcript for me in case YouTube doesn't generate auto-captions that I can edit.
