Week 7: Interactive Module

For this week I created  an interactive module using Articulate's Rise 360 authoring tool because it was an easy system to use and it allowed me to create different interactive elements in a straightforward way. I made it to match the learning objective "Identify different elements of five-paragraph essays" and specifically for my course section 1.B What is an Introduction?.

Learners can progress through the lesson either by listening to the audio provided or by reading through the written material. There is set of interactive flashcards designed to help the students learn about good thesis statements and there is a 5 question quiz at the end of the lesson for them to complete to test their knowledge. For accessibility, the text was made black with a white background and I used a simple, standard font. There is alt text on all the photos and audio provided for all the main text and flashcards.

I learned this week that if I am going to provide large amounts of written material, it would be better to write it all out in Word first and then later copy the information into the module. That way when I build the course I only have to do limited material editing in the authoring tool.
